Measuring Your Moles

Measuring Your Moles

With MoleMapper™ 3.0,  streamlined measuring is now done at the same time as mapping. When you take a picture of your moles with a coin for reference, the app calculates the size of your mole based on the standard sizes of US coins. As long as you pick the right coin in the list and make sure the circles around the coin and moles are correct, your mole measurements should be good.

However, how good is good enough? If you elect to participate in the study, one of the questions you’ll be helping us answer is how accurate this is in everyday use. There is a natural variability in any measuring process and we want to better understand that variability especially as it relates to the natural variability in mole sizes over time.

We’re also studying other ways to measure moles without using a coin. If you follow the calibration sequence (either immediately after enrolling in the study or by tapping on the “Profile” tab and then the “Calibrate Auto-measure” item), you will help us understand how accurate this process is before we start to use it.
